Magalie Vetter

Magalie Vetter is the president of the newly founded Swiss Video Game Archivists (SVGA) association (2022). SVGA aims at creating a network of professionals interested in video games preservation, developing knowledge to facilitate video game preservation in cultural institutions, promoting Swiss video game history, and accompanying institutions in preservation projects.

She studied digital humanities and media history at the École nationale des chartes, and specialized in video game heritage with a master thesis on advertisement in video games magazines. She joined the Memoriav pilot project Pixelvetica in 2021. Pixelvetica was the first large-scale project reviewing the video game collection status, preservation practices and needs in Switzerland. She is a partner at the GameLab UNIL-EPFL since 2019, working on the valorization and preservation of the group’s collection.
